motherboard upgrade help?

Hi guys/girls,

I currently have a ryzen 5 2600(1st gen) and a MSI GTX1060 6gb with 16gb of ram and the motherboard at the minute is a MSI A320M PRO-VD/S. I'm just wonering what other choice i have?

a320 is horrible

 

cheap vrms

 

barely any cooling for it

 

barely (if any) support for zen 2

 

I'd highly recommend something better

any suggestion on an upgrade? preferable something in the micro ATX range and im in the UK and between £150/£200

200 for everything, or just the mobo?

just the motherboard, im pretty happy how it preforms with the set up now, just want to change the motherboard

well... for that money you can get my current favourite am4 board, the taichi

 

but even a b450/ab350/x370 pro4 would be a huge improvement

i mean... if you really like the case you could get something like a mortar (not b350), bazooka (not b350), pro4(-f) (not a320), gaming plus, aorus m,  or steel legend

you just need to get something with a better chipset you culd try and warch this vidio

The chipset doesn't determine the quality of the board though. There are bad boards on any of the AM4 chipsets.

Any of the ones mentioned by Luke would do fine for a 2600. Other option would be to go ATX but that would mean a new case as well.

yep, i'd even trust a 2700x with all of them, so a 2600 should do easily

Yeah they are all fine for the 2600. Only reason I mentioned ATX was if he wanted something higher end such as an X470 Gaming Pro Carbon or Taichi etc.

I would avoid Newegg though as you are in the UK. Just stick to Amazon or other UK retailers.
