AMD settings suck

RJR

So i had 3 monitors running, 1 via HDMI 2 via MiniDP>VGA. using a radeon 7970 GPU.

All was working fine and wonderful. i've been using it at work for the past 5 days, until an hour ago when i was on the radeon settings and accidentally clicked Enable Clone, upon disabling clone. My computer started auto detecting all 3 monitors over and over.

Now 2 monitors are working fine but as soon as i plug the third back in it just dies. everything goes off. it flashes between the 3 monitors and 1. i'm using active Adapaters so i havent got a clue.

I've swapped adapters, reinstalled drivers but nothing.

any advice would be great as i'm about |----| this far from throwing my computer from the 3rd story of my office

Thanks guys

very true, it is 7 year old.

However. It literally died after changing a setting. I can run dual monitors fine right now. i can play games fine.

Simply "upgading" can't be the only solution. There are people using 10 year old gpu's to run 3 monitors.

It was Fine until i went onto radeons settings.

Delete Radeon Software and DDU.

Reset Windows display settings and reinstall the drivers and start from scratch.

if its an issue with settings, that should fix it.

I tried deleting the radeon settings. restarted and plugged in monitors. Reset the display settings but nothing. when i did have all 3 screens on. 1 was displaying as "generic non-pnp monitor" and the settings were unchangable and 800x600 resolution.

I just don't understand how this can suddenly happen.

im talking about deleting Radeon software. DDU should take care of removing any display settings that may be in place.
