Was just looking to confirm with all you smart individuals that the I7-4790 is supported by K30AD_M31AD_M51AD? I've seen weird conflicting answers in some places so just wanna double check before getting it. Was initially just going to settle with the 4770 but want to get the the 4790 if it's compatible. Cheers and hope everyone is havin' a good Thursday!

I don't see a spec sheet, but I've used enough ASUS prebuilts from that era (albeit mostly on the AMD side) to trust them with 85W parts. Just make sure the CPU they come with is a 4000-series. I.E., i3-4150, i5-4460. If the first digit of the SKU starts with anything other than a 4, it's not compatible.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Yeah the CPU in it now is a 4460, so the 4790 should work fine then? Been meaning to upgrade for a long while now, just got a 1070 and decided to pull the plug lol

Yeah, you're golden. They use the same amount of power, 84W.
