Laptop power supply question

Not quite sure if this is the place to ask but I recently got a new laptop Huawei Matebook X Pro and I want to take good care of it. I will be using it quite frequently at home but I dont want to be leaving it plugged in and using it at the same time as I am worried that will degrade the battery. Is there anyway I can bypass the charging and make it run on AC power only? Also can someone explain how the once it hits 100% it stops charging thing works? Thanks in advance guys.
