Don't know anything about power supplies, need some help for a certain recommended one or wattage.

I have an i7-7700, GTX 1060 3gb, 2*8gb of ram, and a bunch of other things like water cooling, and gaming peripherals.

Need some help, if you need any more info on my PC you can ask! Thanks!

Something like a Corsair CX550M would be enough for this PC.

That system would use around 200-250w.
Most decent PSUs start at 400/450w or even 550w.

Do you already have a PSU? If so, what model is it? (If you're not sure, check the label on the side/top of the unit, or take a photo of it).
What country are you in and what's your budget?

Its the same with all the CXM regardless of wattage.......

Also wattage is largely irrelevant.

The CX/CXM range are fine and certainly good enough for this type of PC.

CX and CXM (greylabel) are not the same.........

Edit: and yes they are good enough. The CXM just isnt as good as the CX at the same pricepoint

Should be fine with a card like the GTX1060. AFAIK it's mainly an issue with higher end cards that have higher power requirements and high slew loads.

Wattage isn't important, it's the topology used (Double Forward).

They use a different topology. CXM is Double Forward while CX (2017) uses half bridge with LLC Resonant. LLC is less likely to coil whine under the above mentioned scenario.
But I don't foresee it being a problem with OPs card, so yeah either the CXM or CX would be acceptable for such a system. Though, the CX is technically better and the same price as the CXM so there's not really much reason to buy the CXM instead. To be perfectly clear, you could do a lot worse than CXM in that price range, so it's not a bad suggestion, it's just that there might be better stuff.

Afaik its mostly an efficiency issue and whining issue. Wich kicks in at higher loads.

But the CXM PSU is fine. Id just use a CX over it or a bequiet Purepower depending on your region.

That was what i was reffering to. Thanks, i just dont really hVe th technical knowhow to go into ak indebt explanation
