I bought a dualshock to play MHW, it arrived yesterday, but I just can't get it to work.

I googled and googled and nobody has an answer to this problem, but maybe someone here has had the same issue and knows how to fix it.

When I plug in my dualshock nothing shows up in windows, nothing, not in the device manager and anywhere else, it's like the controller isn't even plugged in, I tried all the USB ports, I tried connecting it via bluetooth but it never shows up, it's basically invisible to my computer.
The controller works just fine on my laptop, via cord and via bluetooth, I tried installing DS4Windows but that didn't help much, my other generic controller works perfectly fine too.
I even reinstalled windows, but that didn't help, the controller is invisible to my computer via cord and via bluetooth, does anybody know how to fix this?

Not even the HID-compliant game controller thing shows up in the device manager, even though the controller is charging and the orange light is lit up.

I hope I can get this fixed.

Is it an official Sony DS4? Does it work with a PS4?

I just grabbed my DS4, downloaded DS4Windows, and more or less I'm up and running with relatively little fuss (over USB, haven't tried Bluetooth yet).

EDIT: Bluetooth works like a charm too. This is actually pretty nifty.
