theses are all better upgrades that will give you faster performance then what you were thinking and will be better for future upgrades :)

Hey guys! So i have got some money to spend   :). I want to upgrade my system and then either give it tot my bro or use it myself :D. But, I don't know what to buy. By looking at my Motherboard's site, it says it can support Core 2 quad. Is it a good one? Cause I've never owned a Core 2 quad in my life.

I intend to change the following:

CPU

RAM(Not totally change, kinda add more RAM)

HDD

Future plans:

Monitor

Gpu

And that's enough. I have  250$ (can add 50$ more) for all of them (excluding the future plans one). What would the best CPU? What about RAM? and when it comes to HDD, I would like 500gb ones rather than 1TB.

For RAM, It needs to be DDR2. My mobo supports 8gb of ram (Dual Channel) and I need more RAM. I have 2gb right now (Single Channel).

Please go to the motherboard's manufacturer's link. It's Important if you're suggesting some hardware :)

Thanks :)

P.S I'm buying it from here, the price converted:

250$ : 16000 INR

300$ : 19000 INR

This belongs in the New Builds in the Planning section and not General Discussion. You should probably know that by now...

I'm moving the thread.

its best if you upgrade your mobo and processor as they are very old and not worth to buy anymore (core2quad)
