Ok.. I have driven myself crazy researching, looking for the quietest and best performing air cooler that can fit in a mid tower case (less than 160mm tall) .  now I am looking for real personal experience. Anyone have an opinion to share on these or own one personally?

Noctua NH-u12A https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-U12A-Premium-High-Performance-NF-A12x25/dp/B07PG8F8DF/ref=pd_day0_hl_147_4/133-9259350-6421527?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07PG8F8DF&pd_rd_r=9698d41d-7365-11e9-acff-01df0530b2b5&pd_rd_w=e7qge&pd_rd_wg=s34CB&pf_rd_p=ad07871c-e646-4161-82c7-5ed0d4c85b07&pf_rd_r=T5S6R188GKMPCQWXWQSN&psc=1&refRID=T5S6R188GKMPCQWXWQSN

Scythe Ninja 5   https://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Ninja-CPU-Cooler-SCNJ-5000/dp/B079X3DBH8/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3LL64KUS8DRR0&keywords=scythe+ninja+5&qid=1557521556&s=gateway&sprefix=scythe+ninja%2Caps%2C186&sr=8-1

Be quiet Dark Rock 4  https://www.amazon.com/quiet-BK021-Extremely-Cooling-Performance/dp/B07BYP9S95/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2I1D2RKK2D1SK&keywords=be+quiet+dark+rock+4&qid=1557521657&s=gateway&sprefix=be+quiet+dark+rock4%2Celectronics%2C195&sr=8-2

have watched and read reviews on all of them but I cant tell sometimes what is a commercial and what is a reputable review. I am hearing that the ninja5 and DR4 might in fact be quieter than the noctua? anyone know for sure?

From what I can see the NH-U12A and Dark Rock 4 trade blows with each other, Noctua cools better but is louder under the same fan curve. Ninja 5 seems to compensate the older tech with sheer size and weight.

All 3 coolers are very quiet but the DR4 would be the quietest if you're not oc'ing much. If you're oc'ing moderately or heavily, the Ninja 5 or NH-U12A would probably be quieter and perform considerably better with the NH-U12A performing the best out of the 3.

I'd recommend the Ninja 5 for the better value. If you really want as much performance as possible, go with the NH-U12A.
