Hardware newbie wants to upgrade his RAM - is this one better than what I currently have?

Hi!

I currently have 1 stick of 8GB RAM (https://www.amazon.co.uk/ADATA-AD3U1600W8G11-B-Premier-1600MHz-Unbuffered/dp/B00UN1R6OE)

and I'm thinking of upgrading to 2 sticks of 8GB (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00453R90W/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A26PVB3960EU85&psc=1).

Is the one I linked (from amazon US) better than what I currently have? Are there better options in that price? (Any more than $75 will make me pay taxes and I'd like to avoid that)(edited)

The Patriot RAM is higher quality, and has a slightly higher rated speed.

Edit: nvm, saw it was DDR3. Just get a 20-30$ 8GB stick used.

Thanks for the tip but I am not from the UK. I just linked my current RAM from Amazon UK because I couldn't find it on Amazon US

That is the first time ive heard the term "quality" been used to describe Ram.

Btw, this is way to expencive for DDR3. Just look up used kits online. They will be much cheaper.

DDR3 is still expensive, even used. 

2x8 kits of DDR3 on ebay are barely any cheaper than 2x8 3000Mhz CL15 DDR4 (like $10-15 at best).

$10 difference.

IMO, DDR3 is hyper inflated. Local is your best bet for actual deals.

At least its cheaper than spending on an entirely new set of Ram

To be honest I also want a new set because I'd like to get the benefits of dual channel, not only for the sake of upgrading to 16gb

if you are not going to run it faster than 1600mhz just get the cheapest 2x8 gb sticks
