Will this motherboard work with a ryzen cpu?

Hi, I want to get the Ryzen 5 2600, but I don't know if it will run with the GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H.

Also does the ryzen socket work with the hyper evo 212?

I didn't know what to put here...

it does work... but it's a horribly cheap board, has no overclocking support and i wouldn't run higher than a athlon in it

and no need for a 212, stock is fine

btw, if you didn't get the 2600 yet, there are some sales on the 1600

Yes it would work but you want to get a B350 board so that you can overclock the CPU and those also don't cost that much more. Also yes a Hyper 212 Evo works but you have to but a adapter from Cooler Master that can be found on this site https://landing.coolermaster.com/pages/amd-am4-ryzen-compatability/

I haven't been in the marked for quite a while. Is the 1600 better than the 2600? These numbers are confusing :D.

The Ryzen 2600 will work with that motherboard, provided that the bios has been updated to support Zen+. However, this is strongly discouraged. Also the Hyper 212 Evo may need another mounting bracket, but it is uncommon to find one without it.

no, the 1600 is worse and a gen older

So the 1150 socket adapter cant be shifted into a am4?

Also I don't want to overclock, and usually buy these gigabyte boards and they work fine, but its better to get something more durable i guess.

The 1600 would work out of the box with the 1600, but have slightly worse performance.

and the 212 performs about as good as a wraith cooler...

yeah, especially as a320 is kinda confirmed to not get 3rd gen Ryzen support, most b and x series do

and it's just straight up cheaply made and makes no sense when boards like the pro4 exist (b450/x370)

Please don't cheap out on the motherboard, as you will lose some fundamental features of the Ryzen platform. The A320 chipset is designed for low-power Athlons.

The fan placement messes with my flow, but i looked into it and might consider using it if i can not find a mount.

i mean, if a b350 prime pro power trottles on a 1500x, a a320 with a 2600 certainly will too

I found a way to mount the cooler differently with the included bracket, but I would not recommend it.
