What GPU do you have? if it's Turing just use NVENC.

Nowadays with NVENC being such a reliable and great alternative as it's pretty much hassle free I don't see building a whole secondary PC for streaming as an worthy investment.

so is it better to use NVENC on obs than to use a regular capture card, because i dont want lag in my monitor when playing, im choosing to run a dual pc setup so that i don't ware out the hardware on my pc

What is the specs of the computer you have? Are you planning putting a build together?

nVidia NVENC allows you to record gameplay with shadowplay or stream it through OBS yes, it uses a specific core in the card that only serves this purpose as hardware accelerator so it doesn't get in the way of your game performance on CUDA.

On Pascal cards only the 1080 Ti and Xp have 2 cores and they perform significantly better but still behind the current Turing one, on Turing you can stream with high quality without much if at all impact on performance.

AMD has a similar solution but I don't know it well.
