New Build, WiFi adaptor not recognized

Stratassj

I finished assembling my new build last night, powered up, got windows loaded in, and went to plug my old usb adaptor in... and nothing. The computer doesn't seem to recognize it at all. Network connections is trying to get me to plug in a LAN cable, any ideas what to do?

I mean, drivers would probably be nice. If there would be any way to get a Ethernet connection to get those?

Is your USB WLAN stick even supported under Win10 (i am assuming here).

If you don't have the possibility to get Internet to your machine get another pc and download the drivers to a usb drive.

Other dumb thought. Did you check the USB port? Maybe try another one. And if you used your front USB try direct motherboard. Maybe you didn't hook the usb connector up properly.

Install the wifi driver first.

The dongle may not be supported by windows 10.

How old is it?

do you have any picture?

The stick is supported in Windows 10, my old rig would run no issue.

the USB ports work, other devices register no issues.

i think I'll need to get an Ethernet cable and run it across the room to the port, it's the only way I can think of to get a connection.

Are you connecting it to the front panel USB ports or the rear SB ports? Try the rear ports.
