Fans and Thermal Paste

So, my gtx 760 fans are not spinning and some people that I know that knows more than me about computers and stuff said that I need to re-apply my GPU thermal paste. But does that affect the fans? The fans are not clogged with dust.

Have you had the GPU for awhile? Or did you just get it?

 

Reason why the fans may not spin may be related to the actual temperature of the GPU. Some GPUs don't spin the fans until they hit a certain temperature.

uh, 5 years of usage, but they still work fine... i think

How hot has the GPU gotten under load? Do you know the exact model?

The fans are dead then. Has nothing to do with thermal paste. but how hot does that 760 get and does it black screen when under load after a few minutes?

so, I use msi afterburner to lock it on 12% of its potencial, but at 100% it got hot enough to turn off by its security measures (100-110C)

yup, it does black screen after like 30 seconds of play
