Slow ssd?

Go to solution Solved by Master Disaster,

Those numbers are fine, in fact more than fine.

As explained, I think the problem is simply that you were copying many small files. Because of how SSDs store data many small files can take longer to write meaning transfer speeds are slowed down while Windows waits for the cache to be emptied.

It's just a quirk of SSDs.

My Read speed: 512

My Write Speed: 320

shouldent i be  like copying the file like a lot faster? 2.41mb/s seems a bit slow for an ssd

If you transfer a file larger than the buffer cache the speed will slow down. That could be the issue. You might also have it plugged into a SATA port that shares a PCIE lane.

It looks as though they might be transferring lots of smaller files which is why it's slowed down. In the screenshot it's a Python file so it's likely no more than a few MB.
