I have an hp laptop (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/8499326/document/c04930362, Yes it sucks, but I need a reliable laptop on-the-go)that i wanted to upgrade: 8gb ram, ssd 1tb would be nice but I need to keep the hdd for heavy reads/writes so I might have to sadly swap out the optical bay (yes I still need it) and have to buy an external one since a SSHD or a 7200rpm seems won't help the load times a lot, and the minipci-e wlan card (now it has a rtl8188lEE b/g/n 2.4Ghz with 1x1 antenna) and I wanted to upgrade it to 5ghz because my wifi sucks (isp's  b2328-42 is so crappy that I don't think connecting anything helps), but found only 2x2 modules... except Intel's Wireless-AC 3168NGW, wich is an Hp oem, has 1x1 antenna (max 433mbps, better than now), can be had for cheap and was recomended to another guy on Hp's forums for another laptop, but will it work? I've also considered the minipci-e to usb and using a  dongle  but I have some doubts about size and range ...have any suggestions? I already tried swapping the 1x4gb stick for 2x2 gb I pulled from another laptop but it didn't work, so I might buy a second one similar to the current

So you wanted a buy a new laptop or do some upgrades? Consumer laptops will never have consistent reliability
