a) Gigabyte overclocking Motherboard

b) doesn't list the AMD Motherboard

c) ASUS Crosshair VII Hero

Now show me some with ASROCK or MSI MID RANGE Boards.

I showed you one...

And that shows higher efficiency on AMD.

Also this Anandtech does:

Here's more data for you to pick apart:

3 more sites showing lower power draw on the 8700K. That's now 6 sources.

It looks like the article is down right now. It was up just before. I'm sure it'll be up again soon.

No, The ARticle seems to be up...

See, I took more effort to look into YOUR article than you did to my Link

More excuses for why this data is "bad." Uh-huh. There's always a reason with you.

More Ad-Hominems from you...

You're trying to find data only on specific boards where it'll show what you want.

Yes, more precisely Boards that are made for "normal People", that don't have total oversized VRMs.

PEOPLE ARE BUYING THESE BOARDS.

No, People are bying THESE Boards:

MSI, X470 Gaming Plus, 127€, 6140+ sold -> https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/MSI-X470-GAMING-PLUS-AMD-X470-So-AM4-Dual-Channel-DDR4-ATX-Retail_1236788.html

The X470F Strix that so many test with sold ~1/3 of either of the other three X470 Boards:

MSI B450, top 3 Boards: 9620

Gigabyte B450, top 3 Boards: around 4000

ASUS B450 top 3 Boards: 7220

THAT is what people really buy.

2700X sold 22,760

2700 "just" 4590

9700K is less than the 2700.

Asus is a big name. People will use them. This data will reflect their experience. Not everyone is going to buy the specific MSI board you want to see tested.

You're wrong, people prefer MSI over ASUS for Ryzen.

And that's by a pretty big margin.

And Gigabyte is not of interest for most Ryzen buyers.

At the end of the day I've still got NINE data sources using varying measurement methods and varying boards ALL pointing to Intel being the more energy efficient of the two. You have 2 so far, maybe you can find a third. But either way, the MAJORITY of the data points towards Intel. Yes, the 2 you found may use more mainstream boards that suck up less power, but you're also not looking at the Intel boards being used against them. Are they just as efficient? Do you have any data that shows their efficiency? How do we know it's apples to apples? There's a LOT to look at in that regard. All I know is that I see 9 tech sites all saying that Intel is better for efficiency.

It's not like it even matters, though. Most people don't give a crap if a part is drawing 15 watts more than another part. We're literally just splitting hairs for no good reason.

Do you happen to have any suggestions for a good wireless keyboard? Better yet would be a mouse + keyboard combo.

For office type systems, I'm partial to the Microsoft bundles. The 3050 would be a good choice.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
