Hi,

I just wanted to call the attention of the mining users who could be tempted to buy an "all-in-one" or "turn-key" mining solutions from new-ish and seemingly innovative companies.

Take for instance Mamoth-Mining, which is based in Germany, or so they say. I stumbled upon this seemingly  AWESOME DEAL!!

https://mammoth-mining.com/?product=falcon

3,699$ for a 6 r9 290x rig ???  WOW! SUCH DEAL!

The problem is this is a scam. I also found feedback of buyers saying they were scammed and that nothing was shipped, along with decent and good - and I assume false - feedback.

So please, do your research before jumping into the mining craze, especially if you're planning on buying premade rigs from new companies.

G'day

But that rack config is quite pretty tho..

Yeah, that's why I wanted to buy it!!  edit: well that but mainly cause it's f****ng 6 r9 290x (and everyting else) for 3,699$

That rig looks like it is using el-cheapo psu. Imagine the number of pcie extender they'd have to use to reach the furthest graphics card...

At worse, you'd have to bring the cards a little closer to each other which is no problem.

6? I see in the picture they are showing 8 graphics card. Where are they going to connect them to the motherboard?

The company looks like garbage but I can buy six 290x's for $3600 on Amazon, the PSU and other things you need would make it more expensive but it's not the gigantic massive huge epic discount you make it sound like.

Well in Canada, most 290x are around 660$ before taxes and shipping, and you're lucky to find them in stock. On ebay and local ads, they tend to be a little over that for used goods. Add to that 2 1200w psus for around 300$ each, let's say a 100 mobo, 50$ cpu, 60$ ram and around 50$ worth if risers (conservative, since out of stock too) my total is 4820$ before taxes and shipping. 25% off performance mining equipment is currently unheard of.
