Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I got a bit busy.

Budget isn't really a problem at this stage(apart from apple :) ). I am looking for something thin & light since I travel and no longer require it to be gaming capable since I have a gaming desktop. But coming from a 17" and using the numpad, this unit seems closest to what I'd like to use. @bellabichon that covers you. @kelvinhall05 to further cover you, I/O isn't all that important. I mainly use an external mouse and now and again an external drive however carrying a port replicator isn't a problem. Battery is rather important since we have loadshedding here in South Africa, so on schedule without power. @GeneXiS_X to cover your points further, the flimsy build was something I was concerned about, but from other reviews that it is a sacrifice given the size but it is not that bad. On the memory, although it is only one slot, it is at least replaceable. I haven't been able to confirm whether a larger SODIMM is supported(unless that is what you meant by non-upgradable), but 16GB should cover my needs. @Saksham thank you for your response too.

The thing is, this is my main choice at the moment and I just wanted to know in your opinion if there is any reason why I shouldn't consider it, something that in your opinion is a huge deal breaker or another product that you would pick above this one. I apologize for not including a more detailed use case in the OP. I think this should put things in perspective.

I don't think the small decrease in weight is worth it. 1-1.3kg is still very portable IMO and you can get models with much better build quality for less price

Please answer so that I can help you:

Please answer so that I can help you:

From: South Africa, Budget: About $2000 if I did the currency conversion correctly, Usage: Normal office use mostly with the odd occasion use of Photoshop and illustrator and sometimes a lightweight VM, Weight: I think 1.5kg would be my limit or very close, Battery life: 8-10 hours, RAM: 16GB minimum (if 32GB is possible it will be preferred in case off non-upgradability) but this is not a deal breaker so won't mind if it is not upgradable, size: 17" and keyboard with numpad if possible.

Thank you for your willingness to assist @GeneXiS_X, I really appreciate it. I read an interesting tidbit today where LG recons that it is by design (the flimsy design). How true that is I don't know haha. I hope you have a great day!
