External 1050ti

I got an old Cerberus 1050ti laying around at home and i dont have any use for it, and i also got an laptop (lenovo thinkpad l440 i5 4300m) with intel HD grapichs 4400 which sucks. And the laptop actually got an express card slot on it too and ive seen people using that slot to an external gpu using one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/142774040423?ul_noapp=true

 

Now since the 1050ti doesnt require an power connector and it takes power directly from the pci slot on a normal desktop, do i need to use a power connector on this, or are the power connector slot on the actually pcie just for the "insides" of it to work? or does it take power from the adapter? I wanna know cuz im wondering cuz i really want to go to school and flex a bit on my friends, unless i need an external power supply to deliver power to the gpu. Then its just too much to do

You need external PSU for the adapter to power the graphics card. No way would a laptop that doesnt use half that of the 1050ti itself will deliver that to the card without extra help lol

NVM, found some info about it online and it seems like i can use that DC port to power it, if it is under 150w. otherwise ill have to use an external psu if it is above 150w. And on ebay it seems like i gen an DC power cord with everything else. And from what i know thhe 1050ti should have an TDP of about 75w. Unless i fucked up anything.

it is for power but you still need a wall voltage to 12v dc power brick
