Yeah so I’ve always had my computer hardwired never had an issue. Today my Ethernet isn’t working. My router and internet is working on all my devices, I changed the Ethernet cord, ( using a new one) still nothing. I used the new Ethernet cord and plugged it into a laptop and the laptop worked fine but my desktop nothing . Under network connections is Cisco anyconnect secure mobility client connection which says al network cable u plugged. I have reset everything, looking into the ipv4 properties it keeps setting itself to “use the following up address” after reset, I change it back to automatically obtain but that seems to make no difference at all. I’m kind of at a loss right now.

Youve restarted the machine? You went to Device Manager and Hit the Search for Hardware changes (magnifying glass)?

Was there a windows update?

Did you update any drivers

When you plug your ethernet cable whats happens with your network and internet icon on windows? What results do you get when running ipconfig from the command line? Are there any MAC restrictions on your pc? Does it reconizes your ethernet card?

Ipconfig release/renew says their is no adaptor that is permissible, plugging in my Ethernet cord nothing changes clicking the icon only shows airplane mode which isn’t even clickable and that’s it. The Mac conditions I’m not sure of, in decicd manager the Cisco thing is on there

edit: I really don’t get it, no damage to the ports on the router or my computer kinda at a loss for words right now. Been googling shit all day and nothing.

Just tried a system restore as a last ditch effort, still fucked. Going to bed depressed

Use another PC to download the Network drivers for your PC or motherboard from the manufacturers website, put them on a USB drive, and install them. Worth a shot in case your drivers are corrupt from an update or something.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)
