Dark Rock Slim, too expensive for its own good?

I saw an announcement about this new cooler from be quiet! and it's clear they were targeting systems that need a small fan that still gets the job done, and I was comparing it to the 212 black and Arctic freezer esports 33 (and the Cryorig H7 when you could get one) until I saw the price tag

The Dark Rock Slim will be available on May 14 with a retail price of $59.90 / £54.99.

A $60 cooler the size of a $35 cooler? That's only $10 less than the Dark Rock 4, except this thing is tiny. Sure it's rated for 180 watts, a mere 20 less than its bigger brother, but it's so thin I have a hard time believing it would "be quiet" to achieve this. What do you guys think?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

why would they do that.... Slim upward facing coolers yes, for mITX systems, but why bother making it slim when it's already so tall?

It's a common form factor that can completely clear ram and allows for a higher fin count and high performance. As long as it's <160mm, it should fit in most towers.

The Shadow Rock Slim seems to be the cooler's predecessor which has a tdp of 160w and was a bit behind the NH-U12S in performance. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/be-quiet-shadow-rock-slim-cpu-cooler,4452-2.html

If the Dark Rock Slim's slightly higher rated tdp of 180w and better placed heatpipes are any indication, it'll probably perform similarly to the NH-U12S which has a MSRP of ~65 USD and better fill the role that the SR Slim was originally supposed to. I think the SR Slim originally prioritized silence a bit too much and missed enough performance that it was a less appealing cooler overall.

Well, the DRP4 launched at $80, the DR4 is $70, this will be at $60, and the shadow rock slim is $50, if they improve the pure rock and pure rock slim for the $40 and $30 price points, that makes a pretty well rounded line of tower coolers.
