Corrupt Windows 10

Hello folks!

 

I have a very interesting problem and would be thrilled to learn how to fix it. A couple of days ago, My PC crashed after reinstalling CS:GO on steam with the stop code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. Upon crashing it reset stating this error (Attached). Now although the photo attached is mine (all rights reserved), I got a similar message. Upon trying multiple commands in the command prompt under advanced settings, nothing has worked. I than decided to try resetting the computer which didn't work as it stated that it ran into a problem and that "no changes were made". I tried every single option under the "Advanced Options" and none have seemed to work. I then resorted to removing a sh***y hard drive from my 8 year old laptop and installing it. I am now at the point of running on Windows 8 off this old HDD and was wondering if I can somehow fix the windows 10 on the other drive I still have installed. Thanks!

You could always reinstall windows 10.

Problem may just be not enough free space? I realize there's 35GB free and that should be heaps but I wouldn't be surprised if something was warning after you have less than 10% free space.

Boot off the Laptop drive, plug your Win10 drive into another Sata port, back up all your files (don't forget about your game saves!), download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from here >

and just do a fresh install.

 

It's always best to back up and install fresh once you start running into issues with system files. Fixes you make will only be temporary since whatever the underlying cause is will eventually just corrupt more things.

 

After reloading, if you run into this issue again down the line, you'll know it's likely time to get a new boot drive and retire that one to a steam library drive (just had to do that to my 3yo 240GB Kingston V300, kept corrupting system files)

P.S. if you don't have enough space on your laptop HDD to backup your files, go into Disk Management and partition your Win10 drive, back up files to the other partition, reinstall on the Win10 side, move files back, then unpartition.
