Hey guys I'm looking into either going with a Fractal Arc Mini with a custom watercooling loop or the Node 304 with a NH-D14. This would be used mainly for gaming. Keep in mind that this is for college so I don't want a huge, ostentatious case. What option do you guys suggest?

Are you looking for micro-ATX? Mini-ITX? I think most people would suggest the BitFenix Prodigy, especially if you're going to water cool it. Personally I've been eyeing the Silverstone TJ-08B but the backwards configuration may be awkward for some people.

The Corsair 900D is pretty small :P

Um, what about the BitFenix Prodigy MiniITX? It's a pretty nice small case. Unless you already have a motherboard that larger than an ITX.

Another vote for the BitFenix Prodigy.

If you have time you can wait for the Mini ITX case Corsair should be releasing soon.

if you want a small case DO NOT get the prodigy!!! it is bigger than some atx case like the node 605.

My suggestions:

itx

sg05 13liters

node 304 20 liters

matx

sg09 23 liters (but it is a nightmare to build in)

core 1000 27 liters (but it is a cheap case, sg09 is better)

atx

node 605 25 liters (gotta watch the length of your gpus, might need to get creative with ssd mounting when using crossfire/sli)

the sg09 is definately the best one in the one I suggested in term of use of space tho.

prodigy 27+ liters for itx???

Maybe a good idea to look at the 350d. If it comes out soon then it may be a feesable option.

If you really want small and don't need to play your games on the best settings while at college, then maybe the Streacom FC8 or FC8 EVO?

FC8: www.streacom.com/products/fc8-fanless-chassis

FC8 EVO: www.streacom.com/products/fc8-evo-fanless-chassis

pros:

- It's small.

- Build quality seems to be really good.

- Silent.

- Still has enough space to fit a small graphics card.

cons:

- You'd have to settle for a cpu with a TDP of 65 watts or less, I5-4570S, maybe?

- You'd have to get one of the better pico power supplies.

I personally went with a F1CB case, since I don't really use my PC for gaming and i'm pretty stoked on how small and silend a decent yet upgradeable PC can be these days.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

I'd opt for a micro-ATX case if you can, you really start to become limited in terms of space, cooling and upgradability when you consider smaller solutions. Keep in mind that you do sacrifice a lot when you look into really small form-factor cases, if you can fit in something like an Arc Mini, I'd go for that instead.

I looked into the SG09 but when you compare it to the Node 304, it just don't look that good, and I probably won't be going with a dual GPU configuration so mini ITX would probably be best for me. I also liked the SG08 but it can't fit high end air coolers such as the NH-D14 and high end air coolers do perform better than say a H80i. The Bitfenix's handles make the case look too big and too stupid, and they make the case very unstable. So far i think that the Node 304 is my best bet. I would be using only SSDs so I have no need of 3.5 inch bays. What do you guys think? Should I go with the Node? Or just get a H80i and the SG08?

Thanks for all the replies!

It is up to you both are good choice.

btw have you seen the silverstone SG10? it is identical to the sg09 but without the ugly front.

Also you should look into silverstone sugo bag, (don t let the name fool you it will also fir a node 304) it would make transporting the computer easier and safer.

I saw the SG10, really awesome. I just sent an email to Silverstone asking them when the release date is
