Maybe I should've clarified better, is there a way to reset bios without removing cmos battery. It's not that I'm incapable of following the guides, im just being lazy :)

Older laptops use to have a pin hole you could go through with like a paper clip to reset the laptop, not sure thats around anymore honestly. But if your googling didnt reveal anything, then likely not.

Its the model with a 4770hq and a 770mx. Laptop is out of warranty

I offered to fix it for a friend. The laptop does not post.  All I want to do is reset the bios by removing the cmos battery but there seems to be this plastic piece in the way. From all the disassembly guides it appears that I need to remove the entire motherboard to do this?

Anyone know of an alternative way?
