Hey! I`ll upgrade my pc from a FX-4320 to a R7-1700 today. And I want to know: will I need to wipe my hard-drive and reinstall everything?

Just make sure you got the drivers installed for the new motherboard and you should be good to go.

worth a try, not to reinstall.

wipe and clean install sure works, and you can also clean up some space and partition it for new windows(if you dont want to do a full wipe).

If your data is backed up off of the machine, it can't hurt to try.  For me, I wouldn't consider it.  New system deserves a new, clean OS, with no remnants of the previous system.  If you plan ahead, a clean install isn't a daunting process and shouldn't take very long, either.  Your system will be running at it's peak efficiency.

In fact, this may be overkill, but I always do two clean installs on a new system.  I get the OS installed and make sure I have the best, working drivers.  Sometimes, I'll remove drivers and try others...or install some of the mobo utilities to see if any are necessary or useful.  Once I'm set and I have only the drivers I need saved to a flash drive, I'll wipe the drive clean and install the OS again.  Then the drivers, and then start adding my apps and games.

Depends on windows. Had an issue with mine. Normally wasn’t an issue but went up to an 8th gen and it wanted time to activate again.  But an eBay code purchase is all my build was worth.
