Possible eGPU alternatives

Hey gang, I've been looking into alternatives to the expensive eGPU housing for laptops and I might have found a solution, although more research is definitely needed. Using a virutal machine distributed execution manager, I was thinking it would be possible with some (crazy and custom) setup process configure your laptop to send its graphically intensive tasks (video games, video rendering, etc) to your more powerful desktop GPU within your local desktop computer via thunderbolt 3 or perhaps LAN. Just a thought, maybe there is a roadblock I can't see (disregarding the fact that you would have to design a program to allow such offloading). Thanks!

Edit: Sorry that only lets you stream your desktop computer over your phone or tablet anywhere in the world. Has built in Xbox controls for xbox one / nvidia controller

Yes I have used Nvidia Gamestream before on my shield tablet, great service, but I was asking more of is this specific technique possible. If so I'd like to make this work and was wondering if the community had any feedback.
