Sound keeps on cutting out

When I talk to my friends on Skype, play games on steam or listen to music/ movies, the audio cuts out for a few secs and then audio comes back again. I don't need better audio quality, I just want the sound to stop cutting out. Can anyone help me with this problem? The specs of my computer are below.

Computer spec:

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V Pro

CPU:Intel Core i7- 2600k

RAM: 16GB

Graphics Card:  Geforce GTX 670

Are you using onboard sound? If so grab a $20 sound card and see if that works. Or if you already have one take it out and try onboard.

Still learning how to play Dota 2 :)

Try using this.

When installed disable some devices on your pc and see if it gets fixed.

Does anyone even use PCIe SSDs?

No i don't, but it doesn't need to be good it just needs to be a catalyst in narrowing down the problem. If you want a better audio system you will have to invest more than $20 but you don't strike me as an audiophile so sufficive to say you don't need to spend alot of money and will probably be fine with most cheaper products.

Is there anyone that you would recommend in that price?

I have been having the exact same issue lately. It only seems to happen in games though.  I have heard it cut out just as there is large explosions, or even just randomly when theres really not anything loud going on.

Creative Sound Blaster Play USB sound card should do. $20-30 usually.
