Using a DAC with Speakers?

I've got a pair of decent speakers (Microlab Solo 7C) that I'm fairly happy with. But I was wondering if there is a benefit to using a DAC with them?

Just to be clear I'm planning to get a pair of proper headphones (still doing my homework on that), I just wondered, will it benefit my speakers too

Speakers defo benefit from a decent dac, i used to use a cheap creative sound card lol.. (was only like 100 pounds) upgrading to a proper dac for my audiophile stereo setup helped a tonne.

Main speaker setup is now;

 

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

If it cost you 100 pounds, you overpayed immensely.

I had a logitech 5.1 and didnt realise i could reconfigure the rear audio jacks on my pc to output 5.1, so yeah. i still have it and just use it as a mic input and nothing else, use audio over hdmi now (so much better - for the home theater setup only tho)

Yeah. I was saying they overpayed because it was a creative sound card.. I have a $250-ish DAC on my desk right now, and I'm probably going to upgrade to a $1,000 one before the end of the year...

Im thinking of selling all my home theater stuff and buying a mcintosh amp and some proper high end floor standers or standmounters, then a schiit gungir or yggdrasil.. im gonna demo a few high end DAC's and see what they sound like
