Assembling a new computer

Hi,

 

I am thinking about assembling a computer from the following. This is for a 12-year-old who wants to play computer games. Hoping to get your opinion if it is ok, or if you have suggestions for alternatives. I don't want to invest too much and he is not a gamer, but does want to run games such as Sky Rim....

Check the price of a rx 570, it will probably be around the price of a 1050 but will be much faster. A 9400F is faster as well as being cheaper as well. What psu is it btw?

What is the budget for the build?

do you already own some of the components ?

 

you could go the AMD route, might save some money

I think it might be worth considering AMD at this price point. Though AMD is making a big announcement soon on Zen2 so waiting could be a wiser move if this isn't needed right now.

where u based and what budget do you have ? Can you wait another few months? July ish area for the release of Zen 2

Something to consider, all of the Ryzen 2XXX chips are going on sale right now to clear inventory for the coming Ryzen 3XXX (2nd generation Ryzen) CPU's.

 

The 2XXX series still rocks.
