Greetings fellas,

i got into upgrading a old linux mint pc.

Ran into problems, and beacuse basically everywhere you would ask, you'd be told to just buy a new one (wich i'd gladly do, but here i am) i tought someone here would help a moron out.

at first the pc was too bad to even explore the web, wich meant every time i loaded up a page, the cpu usage shot up to 100% and the page froze. I got another cpu, namely the e8200 wich should work with my mobo,

and some ram alongside with it.

the ram and cpu were only about 20 bucks, used.

tested it with three pairs of different ram sticks, but couldn't get a post, altough the pc seemed to be working.

the ram works with the old cpu, but it still cant handle websites.

if im not getting a post, is it beacuse the ram i got was not compatible with the cpu?

Any recommendations welcome.

also on a sidenote, using a old gpu, i tried to take some load off the old cpu (doesn't really make sense i know) but couldnt get a post, unless i ran recovery mode. Using the slow working cpu wich worked before.
