Hi All,

I'm building a budget system for my buddy's sons birthday; around $550 budget. I have a lot of experience building high-end windows gaming machines but not AMD. What are your opinions on the below system? He will mainly use it for fortnite, twitch, youtube videos, Borderlands, etc. I went with AMD due to the onboard GPU and the included cooler. All these parts are from my local MicroCenter.

NZXT H500

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6 Core

ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 ATX AMD Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB - Bundle of two 8GB DDR4-2666

Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 500 Watt 80 Plus ATX Power Supply

Inland Professional 240GB 3D TLC NAND SATA III 6GB/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (240G)

  • Try and get faster RAM for Ryzen, something 3000mhz plus.
  • As mentioned, only the "g" CPUs from AMD have integrated graphics.
  • 240GB of storage is going to disappear very, very quickly. Try to up it to at least 500GB, or consider adding an HDD.

4 minutes ago, WikiForce said:

Mainstream Ryzen CPUs don't have iGPU. If due to limited budget you can't afford a decent discrete gpu, i would recommend APU like 2200g / 2400g which both feature a very capable iGPU for moderately demanding games like Fortnite.

Ok - what about:

AMD Ryzen 5 2400G

Gigabyte B450 AORUS M AM4 mATX AMD Motherboard
