Hey guys,

So if you're delliding a CPU and you use liquid metal you have to make sure that no liquid metal spills off of the die and touch capacitors around it so I wanted to know if theres some sort of thin and cheap isolation compound available that you can just put around the cpu die to make sure that there will be no shortages?

thanks in advance,

Vintovka

Leave it uncovered and also dont seal the IHS also. Delidding a CPU is not as scarry as liquid cooling.

I dare to delid CPU without covering any pins and without re-seal the IHS, but I never dare to use liquid cooling yet..

Delid only risks a CPU, while liquid cooling risks almost the whole system, the whole money..

I couldn't find classic nail polish. I found nail "gel".

Stank of solvent and made a barrier when I did a test splodge. So I guess its the same thing although the i5 3570 doesn't have any exposed caps so i didn't need it.

i think only the Haswell and DEvils Canyon i5s have exposed caps
