This is a really weird question but I'm about to move off grid and my solar system is solely designed around me being able to run my gaming computer still.

Currently I have a 600W power supply in it that runs off of normal 110 volt power. As some may know on a 12V solar system inverting to 110V is going to lose power and thats not ideal as it will limit time when not in direct sunlight that I can run my computer.

Does anyone know of any 12V connection power supplies so that I dont have to invert DC to AC to DC again?

Also if anyone has any recommendations on solar setup that would be appreciated I'm still struggling to figure out how much I actually need to run my computer and everything else I need.

Solar setup:

4x 300W 24V renogy panels

4x 250ah 12V SLA batteries

2000W pure sine wave inverter

PC setup:

RYZEN 7 2700X

ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F

MSI RADEON RX 580

EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze

Only ones I have seen are for very small computers, no discrete GPU, low power CPU.

An inverter is the only real way to go.

The type of PSU you would be looking at is a PICO PSU but those have very limited outputs, like 200w or less and would replace your dedicated PSU

They exist but you'd have to pay a pretty hefty price for them since it's a relatively obscure use case so you're looking at industrial stuff

EDIT: Not to mention these are meant for server racks so you'd have to make it a little ghetto to fit the PSU in

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

yea from what im seeing there it would be 1/5th of my budget just changing from an AC to a DC power supply which would suck I dont even know how much power i would be losing probobly nothing substantial really

Yeah these are industrial grade psus so they don't really care about efficiency, if you check the product pages on all of them they list them as only 65% efficiency lol. It might be a little bit better than going to AC and then back again but it's probably not worth the $400 or whatever you'd have to pay for the psu

I used to do a lot of car audio and car PC, etc. You know.. back when people would have a media PC in their trunk before mobile phones had streaming music services.  LOL!!!  Anyway.... I would always use these guys:

http://www.mini-box.com

and

https://www.logicsupply.com

Cannot go wrong with them.

They make plenty of DC to DC PSUs that convert a wide range of DC to a solid, regulated +12V.  Then you get a PICO PSU to convert the lower voltages (+3.3V and +5V).  Easy peasy.

Yes, a PICO PSU does not put out much power, but if you're working with a +12V source, you don't have to power your graphics cards and CPU off of the PICO.  The primary function of the PICO is to convert the +12V input to +3.3V and +5V for the motherboard and drives.
