R7 260x cant connect two monitors at the same time.

So basically i have connected two monitors with adapter to the two DVI ports of the card.

When i boot the pc only one is detected.

If i try them one by one both work, so cables and adapters are fine.

What can cause the problem?

hmm it might depend on what dvi port it is, DVI or/D is it a single or a dual link.

i had a problem where my DVI D single cable wouldnt work on the DVI-D dual link connector, but will work on a DVI-I connector on the gpu

I'm going to guess hes trying to use 2x DVI to VGA adapters and running into an issue where one of the ports is DVI D.

One is dvi to hdmi the another is dvi to vga. They are different but dont know the proper names for them. Also if i connect hdmi directly it does not work i dont know why.

I was thinking if the gpu is bad, but it still plays games for hours without an issue

One is more than likely DVI D, a version of DVI that will not work for VGA without special cables.

If its a DVI flat bar insert it wont work for VGA.  If I recall correctly its known in the industry that they actually sell these adapters that do not work.  At least I know its happened to me when trying to use DVI-d 24+1 to VGA.  Found out the hard way (while the Asian seller laughed to the bank with my $3! lol)

On the GPU (I just water cooled one) there are two diff types of DVI correct, one is colored differently than the other just cant remember what setup (I use HDMI out of that GPU)

Also the R7 260x is only rated at max 2k resolution output

also well if your using VGA to DVI-D(the cable/connector with a single horizontal connector pin thingy) then yeah that wont work since dvi-d is digital only pretty sure, while vga is analog.
