able to access edge, but not steam or epic or pretty much anything else

DotzHyper

Stuck on "Identifying internet access..."

But when I press on the icon, it is connected and I have tried to connect to others and reset the wifi (pc). At this point I don't know, because it is connected but not allowing me to access steam.

YouTube is working fine and I can access any website on edge. My chrome is acting up so I cant access anything on there anyway.

So what is your question.  Edge is working fine ? But Chrome gives you problems ?.  I recommend uninstalling chrome and then reinstall it.

no, edge works, NOTHING ELSE works. I cant get on steam (unless im offline) same with the epic launcher. I have reinstalled chrome but that's a different issue that I can fix some other time. That hasn't been working the whole day.

but edge doesn't fully work. Most Microsoft links and linustechtips, com work, but a bunch of websites don't work and especially download redirects.

When was the last time everything was working ?  You can always do a System Restore and go back up to the date where you had no issues.  I assume your smart cat so you will find system restore... good luck let us know what happens after doing this.

it was working earlier today. Then downloads were acting funny, and now all I see is "identifying.. internet access."

Worst case scenario you can always do a Windows Reset.  It keeps all your data files and just gives you a clean os.  You will have to install games and apps and whatnot tho.

If you don't feel like doing this then once again launch your system restore and go back 3 or 4 days.

its a fairly new build just now started working properly. Will it delete the USB network adapter's drivers/program?

Well WIndows 10 installs those drivers you don't need the one company puts out.  I have a 2012 rig and I have not installed any drivers.  However you might want to install the audio drivers if you use the onboard audio.
