Hi guys! I am new to building PC's and this is my first time building one. I am looking to spend around 1100 to 1200 US dollars. I would like to get an rtx 2070 and a i5 9600k. I need help on what other parts that I should get. I know what parts I need to build a computer, I just don't know exactly which ones to get. What are some recommendations?

First look up the price of what a rtx 2070 and a i5 9600k would cost. Make sure to look around to see how cheap you can get them. Then take the rest of the money you have and evenly distribute it between other parts. For instance, you dont need a good case, just something cheap that is also the right size for your motherboard. And make sure your motherboard has the right CPU socket.

I threw this together on pcpartpicker (awesome site btw) feel free to change things like the case or storage as those are really more subjective to what you want, but other than that this would be a really solid build

This is definitely an option, but keep in mind things that might be quality of life improvements that might fit within your budget. you could go with a non modular power supply that might cost less but will be harder to manage, same goes for a case. if you don't care about that you can save a few bucks, but you could also go for a non K sku for the cpu and a motherboard chipset that also doesn't support overclocking. truth is most people don't overclock and most chips these days turbo quite high, just gotta decide what you want out of the system. please ask any questions you might have
