So I have a msi z370 gaming plus motherboard with an i7 9700k, the i7 is turbo boosting to 4.5 ghz every time I’m playing a game. Everything is fine, temps are fine no throttling I’m just curious, is my motherboard okay for handling the turbo boost or will it eventually harm my motherboard. I am going to upgrade to a z390 in the future but for now this is what I have. Thanks for any help!

Turbo is within spec so any turbo speed you're reaching is safe for the board. Boards with inadequate power delivery will drop out of turbo and yield bad performance so if you're getting consistent frequencies then you're good.

Why's that? No need to upgrade if your current hardware gets the job done.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

The only place you run into trouble with constant CPU pinning is if you have it over volted, which you do not since this is just a turbo so you're all good.
