You should spend extra on a better PSU, at least step up to a Corsair CXM or something

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

CORSAIR RMX White Series (2018), RM750x, 750 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply - White

$120 . . . $10 more than non-white version?

RMX is quite a step up from a budget EVGA unit, if that's what you go for it's worth it.

Massive imbalance. Change to AMD Ryzen 5 2600, pair it with a decent b450 motherboard and some 3000 mhz ram to save a bit of money. That 9600k is overpriced like mad. Then we can use that money to get more storage and most importantly, a better gpu. You should NEVER get a 1050ti. Especially at a disgusting price like that. The rx 570 is the minimum, never go below that level of performance. And also don't get the rtx 2070. It's one of the worst value gpu's you can buy right now. The Vega 64 trumps it on value by far. And there's cheaper cases than that thing that are perfectly fine. I assume you want a white case with some fancy glass. The psu also isn't up to task. Here's an example:

I repeat, do not get a 1050ti. This rx 570 8gb is cheaper and around 30% better performance. Rather than upgrading your parts twice, upgrade once and call it a day. The build above does that.

any suggestions . . . different case, gpu, etc

Since you have bought all but the case the only suggestion I have is to get the H500 rather than the H500i.

I would note that the psu is one of the most important components in a build. Using a cheap unit is rarely a good investment. Remember, the psu directly affects system stability, component lifetimes, and overclocking potential.

I would have used a Z390 motherboard. As it stands, make sure that the Z370 motherboard has a BIOS version that supports the i5-9600K.

I'm not sure that the cpu cooler can do a reasonable job.

The gpu seems an odd pairing with the cpu. How will the machine be used?

gtx 1050ti was gifted to me by a friend who got a 1080, didn't spend any money on it.  storage isn't an issue for me right now, I'm only using like 100/250GB rn, and have an old 1TB harddrive I can use if needed (7200RPM).  9600k is currently cheaper than the 8600k (or it was when I bought it).  I prefer nvidia, but I'm willing to look into AMD GPU's.  also looking into getting a pcie network adapter rather than the USB 2.0 one I have

occasional gaming session, google docs, some video editing.  nothing crazy, just sort of investing in something that will remain decent for the next 5-10 years (hopefully ;P).  I asked around and apparently CPU cooler can handle overclocking if I want, but I want to test it before hand

I'd suggest planning a psu upgrade in the near future.
