Would it be enought?

So I want to try out custom water cooling but I don't want to spend at least $600 on parts, so I found the EK Fluid Gaming A240G which runs 239.99 on Newegg. In my system I have a 5960x and a nvidia GTX 1080 founders edition (Both run stock). And in the future im going to get a 7960x and probably a Titan Xp. Would that kit be enough for the 5960x setup? and would it be enough for the 7960x setup. Max I would do with my pc is gaming. And before yall start saying why I would get a 7960x for gaming, its because its a hand-me-down part.

EK makes the 360mm kit would probably be a better bet with your upgrade path you mentioned. It give you more thermal overhead to allow for higher OC's

I have an h500, so the biggest rad I can fit is a 280. but they only make a 240 in aluminum.

and I probably wont be doing any overclocking. im satisfied with the performance.

Okay i see.  Using a 240mm it be better and quieter then air but its not going to be a huge difference like you would see with fully custom loops with bigger or more rads. The good thing is you can always add to these kits in the future.

right now I have a 280 mm aio and it runs pretty cool. even under load. the only reason I want to do the loop is to cool the gpu. its getting a bit hotter then id like.

Yea cooling the gpu is what is going to introduce the heat pretty quickly.

I have a RTX 2070 with a 30% OC and Ryzen 7 2700x @ 4.2Ghz 1.39v

Im running 360mm Rad custom loop (in my sig) in the front of my case and the loop hits about 65c in games after 30 mins. About 70c with CPU and GPU pegged.

dang nice specs! right now, my gpu gets to 82-85 while gaming and cpu sits at around 40-45 while gaming. id like to bring that gpu temp down to maybe about 50? maybe 60?

You would probably be closer to the 60s area, i always compare when i build 100% fan speeds of the system and components vs water. I can stand a noisy computer myself.

Its always the question how much cooler can you make it over 100% full air and then how much quieter.

If your in low to mid 80s i would definatly switch to water, have you tried just taking the card apart and putting better application and quality paste on? its amazing the temp differences you can achieve on air by doing that alone.

personally I would like to optimize my computer to be quiet, because even when watching youtube in headphones, I can hear the fans. And no I haven't tried to put new thermal paste and pads on the gpu. When I got the 1080, it have a titan X?... cooler on it.

I would go into it then it will definitely make things a lot quieter.

I probably should but right now everything works and I don't want to take anything apart unless I upgrade XD

It might barely be enough for what you currently have if you don't mind high fan speeds, but it's not going to handle a Titan Xp and a 7960. You would need to add another 240 at a minimum.

yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. I might need a bigger case for better rad support.
