What I have: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW connected to an Asus vg248qe (using Display port) and a dell (connected using DVI). Dell monitor only has DVI and VGA ports.

Issue: In the last month, the Asus says "no signal" on displayport. Dell is fine. Troubleshot everything possible, ultimately have found that the displayport does not work when DVI is detected
This happens when it is DVI to DVI, or HDMI to DVI.
Does NOT happen when it is HDMI to VGA.

I know the vg248qe has displayport issues sometimes. I have completely turned the monitor off, unplugged for several minutes. I have updated and reverted Nvidia drivers.

Is there anything else I can do that may resolve this issue? I just don't want to buy a longer VGA cable ?

Did just start happening out of the blue? Try to DDU your drivers and install fresh offline.

Yes. One day I turned my computer on, and my display was not working. Thought the cable had broke or something.

I'll try the DDU drivers this weekend. just a hassle.

Do you have a high quality Display Port Cable??

Have you tried a different Display Port Port??

  • 2 months later...

I don't know if you are still having issues, but here's what helped for me.

I also was having No Signal issues with displayport, but HDMI worked fine.

You might want to look at https://www.displayport.org/product-category/cables-adaptors/.

See if the cable that you are using is listed there, If not you might want to get one that is listed on there.

Apparently most cables that are included with the monitors are not VESA standard.
