Hi all! :D

I've been looking to get a good CPU and GPU upgrade for my 2nd PC, that is currently running of scraped together parts I found in our and relatives attics, for quite some time now.

But I have yet to encounter a good deal.

I thought of something like an i5 4570, or an i7 4770 if the price is good.

The most important part of the PC is silence! I want to have the least noise possible as it is within 1 meter of my bed.

Specs of the current Frankenstein Monster:

Spoiler

Used:

-Phenom 955 (got it for like 20€ some time ago so not that bad of a deal)

-Asrock mainboard (N68-something, I had to undervolt and underclock to 3,1 all cores to get the 955 working)

-4GB DDR3(?)

-GTX 750ti

-Aerocool 750W

New:

-be quiet! Pure Rock

-be quiet! Silent Base 601 (Yes, I know how funny this is that the case is worth  as much as all its internals combined xD But I bought it because the main goal of the PC is silence after all.)

It currently  is capable of doing what I want from it, watching Videos and streaming Series. But playing games is almost impossible on it, if you want to play something other than LoL, and I want to change that.

So does anyone have an idea what a good upgrade would be? I don't want to spend a lot of money since my main PC was expensive enough :D

If not then I'll wait for Ryen 3 and hope the 1st gen prices will sink a bit.

I wouldnt put much effort into 2nd build, just wait when main rig gets upgrade & pass the spare parts to it...

otherwise get a raspberyy pi

That will be another 2-3 years though...

The Pi is a good idea though and I already have one at home, just not for that task :D
