I genuinely can't believe this rumor persists.

Not only do AMD CPUs not overheat, they're more power efficient than Intel processors, and they actually come with good coolers in the box.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

My friend was going to buy a new PC and didn't know whether to get an AMD CPU or Intel CPU. Then he heard that AMD components overheat on a regular basis. So I was wondering If this is true or not?

AMD's many years old FX chips were usually quite toasty, especially the high end ones.

Their newer Ryzen chips however are fantastic. So no, in this current age, it's not true.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

^^^ This.

Recently, Intel CPUs have been getting hotter and hotter, while AMD is generally getting cooler.

It really depends on the chips you're buying though.
