Expectations from Navi

Opinions on Navi 10? I think they'll be pretty meh just like the Radeon VII. Polaris on the 7nm node.

expectation is 2070 performance around 200-400$ mark. though its way too early to say anything. 

 

Navi is more interesting for small mobile or console system than high end. it will hopefully be interesting for budget mid range systems.

Navi seems like Polaris tbh, more about making money than slashing the high end.

Navi 10 will likely have a $100, $200 and $300 option. My predictions are the $100 will be matching the 1060, the $200 card matching the vega 56, and the $300 card in between the vega 64 and 2070. 

 

It could very well be the lowest end card that is the real star of the show. I think Navi's goal will be to replace the rx 570 as the price to performance king. Because let's be honest, the rx 570 STILL outdoes Turing's low end by far, and it's embarrassing for Nvidia that a previous gen card is making them look bad. It's time AMD showed them how it's done.

 

I don't quite believe that a card at $250 would match a 2070, so I'm slightly toning that back and going for $300 card that places itself nicely in between the 1080/Vega 64 and the 2070.

I am legit done with betting on AMD disrupting the marketplace with better price:performance than Nvidia at launch. It hasn't happened since Hawaii 6 years ago. I'm betting it'll give us 2060 performance at $350, 1660ti performance at $280, and 1660 performance at $220. It'll be more power hungry doing it, but will have 8gb of VRAM instead of 6. Anyone betting on 2070 performance for under $400 is actually kidding themselves and living in 2013 where 290 matched the $500 780 for $400.
