hello guys

i have two corsair vengeance ddr3 1600mhz (no OC) and one of them isnt working

as when i insert the defect ram in my mobo PC shows no display

now heres the thing

when i checked my pc noticed both the Rams had (dont know how to describe it) like a white piece paper which was very small (was definatly not paper but looked and felt like one) inside them like way inside the heatsink

i managed to remove them from one the Ram sticks which is currently working fine however there is a small portion still left inside the the heatsink

so should i remove the heatsink and try to remove the thing and if i do can i still put the heatsink back onto the stick or just keep it without the heatsink?

i cannot claim an RMA cus these are really old and i dont have the bill/receipt

im sorry for my lack of explanation and vocabulary......

my RIG:-

I7 2600K

DH67bL

gtx750ti

2xcorsair vengeance DDR3 1600mhz

1tb HDD WD BLUE

More than likely a sticker, maybe the warranty sticker. The ram will still have manufacturer stickers on on the module itself under the heatsink. I don't think removing it would cause any issues unless you nicked something with whatever tool you used to remove this paper like stuff from the module. Was it working before you removed the paper like substance? If no I think it's just going to be a dead module or slot, I would try the good module in the slot the dead one was in by itself and see if it's the slot that's bad, and if possible test both ram sticks in another computer just to be sure. You honestly might be looking at getting some new DDR3 Ram, you can get highspeed DDR3 for cheap since it's mostly no longer used.
