Hey there! Today I bought a second monitor fairly cheap of Craigslist second hand. It's a 1080p 60hz acer monitor. I know there's always things different monitor to monitor, but this is such a big difference and it's killing me. I've tried contrast, brightness and the rgb but nothing works. any ideas how I could get it similar to my main monitor? (the monitor on the right!) Thanks!

Is the left one a cheap monitor? Normally washed out color can happen with cheap monitors. Also, you could get the same monitor and copy the settings.

Perhaps the panels vary? One might be IPS/VA and the other a TN? If so, there isn't much you can do. Could also be an issue with the used one if it's very old, as colors tend to wash out.

I think you can try to calibrate them both, using not inexpensive hardware you'd have to buy.

Maybe try centering one monitor and using it as your main, as before, and putting the other to the side as a secondary monitor, so that you don't necessarily care as much?

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

Unless you buy 2 monitors of identical brand, model, and from the same production line, you'll never be able to sync them perfectly. This is because different monitor brands & models offer different colorspaces & grades of panels. In fact, if you were to buy one monitor of brand ABC model XYZ say in January of 2017, then decide you'd like to buy a second monitor of the same brand ABC same model XYZ a year later, chances are they'll be using LCD panels from differing production cycles, which means their colors will be ever so slightly off, even if you match the contrast & RGB values between both monitors.

This is why I always buy my monitors in pairs at the same time. It's how I bought my 2x Dell U2715H displays I have now, and how I bought my 2x ASUS ProArt PA238QR displays I have in storage. Otherwise you run the risk of getting matching models that utilize differing panels because they're not from the same production line. Usually you can get them very close when they're the same model though, but with your second display being from Craigslist, I highly doubt there will be much that can be done here.
