People get caught up in airflow science all the time but all you really need to do..... is make air go in , and make air go out

So long as the air is being exchanged  , then you could quite literally put the fans anywhere.

Sure you can follow some basics like don't have hot radiator air blowing on the cpu and such , just don't overthink it

Hey folks, inspired by Linus and Co, I'm making my own desk pc. I've got pretty much all my parts together will need to plan where to put my components yet. Its going to be a water cooled build with soft tubing.

Anyway what I would like to ask all you guys is for some advice on fan intake and radiator positioning. The desk is going to be smaller than the Linus desk.

Dimensions: 920mm x 660mm x 150mm (L x W x H). It will be rectangular in shape.

Now I was thinking of having to fan intakes on the front left and right, with the IO in the middle for symmetry, with the exsuast raditior central on the back panel. Would the air flow go up and around the back, leaving a pocket front centre of bad air flow?

Or would it be better to have the air flow simply go left to right etc straight across side to side.

Or does it not really matter?

Any thoughts would be welcome, thanks.

Nice easy simple answer lol the best kind. Thanks my good man, that is really helpful to know, will make life so much easier and can make it look more aesthetically pleasing. ☺

Thanks ?

Some specific components might benefit from cooler air hitting them, like VRM or the graphics card. You can use air diverters to make intake air blow over the board in a more focused way, but exhaust is pretty much exhaust so long as the hot air is moving toward the outlets and not stagnating inside the case.

Cheers for that, I think I'll just keep it simple lol.
