Classic video card benchmarking

All right everyone, time for some classic video card benchmarking! All tests were run once. Driver was uninstalled and reinstalled for each video card. My sound card, a Creative Labs CT4810 was working fine until I plugged in the Radeon 9700, then once the system booted into Windows it was making a weird sound, I restarted, and then nothing. I could remove it from the device manager after doing a refresh, then reinstalling it, but then it would just keep saying that the drivers weren't installed or there was a problem. So I moved it from slot 4 to slot 5 and it is working....

 

I also have a brand new in box Pentium 4 1.7GHz that I may take and install and rerun all the tests with the different video cards to see how much of a difference it makes. I would like to get a couple more 128-256MB AGP video cards to test. I have tried looking for the X 8X0 series and the 9800 series, but people want two arms and a leg for them. I could buy brand new video cards for the prices they are asking, it's crazy.

 

With the Radeon 9250 PCI video card, I could open the benchmark and start it, but then it would close the application and put me back at the desktop, not sure why, but just couldn't get them to run. I also do the patch V360 for 3DMark 2003, but for some reason, it wouldn't run if I had it installed.

 

The test system:

-> Intel Pentium 4 1.3GHz, socket 423

-> Asus P4T Socket 423 motherboard

-> 1GB 800MHz RD-Ram

-> DirectX 9.0b, Windows ME

-> Driver version 6.4 for all cards

-> ATI Radeon 9250 128MB AGP

-> ATI Radeon 9250 256MB PCI

-> ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB AGP

-> ATI Radeon 9700 128MB AGP

-> 3DMARK 99MAX, DEFAULT SETTINGS

-> 3DMARK 2000, DEFAULT SETTINGS

-> 3DMARK 2001SE, DEFAULT SETTINGS

-> 3DMARK 2003 V340, DEFAULT SETTINGS

-> AQUAMARK 3, DEFAULT TEST

-> PCMARK 2002

I can do some benchmarks for you with a 9800 Pro and an X850 XT if you want, might have some other AGP cards hanging around too, like a Voodoo 3. I can run them with an Athlon XP 2800+.
