Hey guys!

Way back in the day, my Mom used to be big into building computers, and this summer we're going to build a computer together for me to take to college! My main goal was to make a strong gaming rig. The budget is 2000 US dollars, however there's a little bit of wiggle room there if it makes a big difference. I don't have any plans for multiple monitors or anything, but running 4K at good settings would be amazing- however currently I plan to run it on a Samsung CHG70 QLED (1440p, 144Hz, FreeSync). Also (I know I'm a newbie) but I was looking into headroom for possible overclocking in the future. I'm also decently concerned about how loud my computer would get (hence the Platinum PSU). About a month ago I had no idea how to build a computer, but this is what I've come up with after extensive research. Please let me know if I've made any horrible mistakes, and I'd love some extra tips :)

Note: At the time of posting the graphics card price is very high, but I expect it to come down around 750-800 dollars sometime soon

Better board. You can go with the Aorus Elite if you don't need wifi.

Gigabyte gpu will sync with the RGB on the board if you want that.

Corsair RMx is a quiet psu.

why not go mITX if you're bringing it out? There are small systems that cool themselves well (though of course not as good as big ATX mid towers)

Simply because I wouldn't have room to add more if I decided I wanted more later

ok then, I assume you mean adding HDDs?

The orange parts on the board are all adjustable RGB, you can use Gigabyte's software to change their color. If you don't want the lights or Gigabyte software (they dont always work), you can disable them in the BIOS and the board will be in different shades of grey.

I have zero idea why this high rated kit is so cheap, maybe the green PCB? But then I have one that had green PCB in pictures but comes in black PCB instead.

Sacrificing a bit of speed compared to the 970 Evo for capacity, though tbh SATA SSDs are better choice if you still want a HDD in the budget without downgrading other things.

Removed HDD for budget reasons...

White graphics card to match the case

RM650x is quiet and durable, There's also the white variant now that I think of it, but possibly raising prices further

Fractal fan as exhaust, Phanteks fans as front intake. You can use the 2 fans that comes with the case as intake or exhaust on the top instead.
