NVR software

okay so i'm looking for NVR software i could use for 5 cameras now as i cant afford to get a NVR unit itself

 

i will be using Hikvision cameras and will be using Hikvision IVMS4200 software to watch them


since i wont be having NVR unit i'm looking for a way to make one but from what i can tell [video below] it will be same as using IVMS4200 software (basiclly a laptop that could function as NVR)
for storage server i will probably use a server witch will be provided for me so i will only need to install hikvision storage server on that
 

so the question is : is NVR software is just same as hikvision ivms4200 software ? (from what iv read they say its not nvr software but from what i can see its literally the same )

 

if anyone has any experience in this i would love to hear it
