Ultra Wide 29 inch monitor for gaming?

Igush91

So i was thinking of buying an ultra wide monitor for my gaming pc, but the question is which one should i buy? I have a 23,5 inch monitor but i want a bigger one for gaming.

I was interested in the LG 29UM69G 73 cm

I usually only play PUBG so that big screen is very important for me and i want to know if my graphics card will be able to push this game on a bigger display??

Should i go for 1080p or 1440p with 60hz or 75?

My specs are:

i7 7700K 4,5 Ghz

Gtx 970 4GB windforce oc

8gb ram

CPU: i7 7700K - 4.2/4.5 Ghz

Grapghics: GTX 970 4GB Windforce OC

RAM: 8GB Ballistix (Single - DDR4 2400 MT/s)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 3

Storage: 240GB Western Digital SSD

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

If you want to go 1440p ultrawide 75hz your GPU will not suffice. 1080p60 should be fine with medium to high details.

I don't think that 29'' 1080p will be enjoyable, I found 27'' to be too big for 1080p monitors for me...

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

And wgat about 1440p on standard 27inch display? I only play on high graphics, no ultra.

I had a 29" ultrawide 2560 x 1080 Monitor and loved it more than this 4k thing I have now, I only lost it because of poor handling on our way to a major LAN about 200 km from where I live. a friend of mine put his monitor on top of mine and it damaged the LCD.

got this 4k screen for free and selling it wouldn't give me enough money in South Africa to replace the 29"

I agree that 27" Screens are horrible at 1080p but 29" Screens do not have the height of 27" screens so the DPI is quite a load better.

That wont be enough it seems. I play now on high settings and get around 90-100 fps

Anything below 60 fps is too low for me personally. Thanks for the info man

Valuable information, it seems like i should just get the 29 ultra wide with 1080p. I think for a 4K screen i should upgrade my videocard but that card is good enough for pubg so im good :)
